- The facility may notify the county board of election commission that they do not want to be a polling location, they may sell their location, or they may find it too difficult to be available for the elections throughout the year, etc. (permanent change).
- During a special election or school election the county board of election commission may assign a precinct to vote at another location if there is a history of low voter turnout, or there are not very many voter’s eligible to vote on the candidate or issue for the particular election at a specific polling location (temporary change).
- After the Federal Census is complete, and the county board of election commission reapportions the Justice of the Peace (Quorum Court) districts, voting locations may be subject to change (permanent change).
